Google Play has announced a series of structural changes to its policies regarding children's apps. This policy expands the "Teacher Approved" program that was launched previously. Google's new policy will tighten and increase the supervision of applications in the Google Play store intended for children.
In addition, these policy updates and other changes will push Android app makers to comply with stricter regulations and laws around software aimed at children. The new policy will determine how apps will gain entry to the Play Store's Kids. Google Play previously activated two initiatives around apps for children, one related to families policy and the other to teacher supervision. The new Google policy will require apps to comply with applicable laws and regulations concerning children, including GDPR and the US Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). Read more
